Baby Monkey Tangled in a Hammock Net as the Troop Watches

A young monkey becomes caught in the netting of a hanging hammock, crying out as it struggles to free itself while an adult sits nearby on a slatted wooden platform. The footage was shot in what appears to be a wooded park or temple-style grounds, with an adult female visible in the frame, her weaned young close at hand.

What happens in the footage

The video opens with the baby monkey gripping the underside of a dark green hammock net strung above a bamboo-slat platform. It hangs partly by one arm, mouth open, clearly distressed, while a larger monkey — likely its mother — sits just a few feet away on the same platform, seemingly unbothered at first.

Earlier footage shows a much younger, grayish infant monkey perched calmly on a carved stone ledge, surrounded by green forest foliage, looking off to the side. This appears to be an earlier, calmer moment in the same location before the hammock incident.

Who else appears in the video

Later shots show an adult female monkey sitting on a low concrete wall near a tree trunk, with two smaller monkeys close beside her — one perched on her back, the other seated near her hip. Her fur looks a bit rough, and patches of bare pink skin are visible on her chest and belly, common in nursing females.

A final still shows an adult monkey standing on the same bamboo platform seen near the hammock, with a tree and the same green netting visible behind it, suggesting this is the same resting spot where the baby monkey got tangled.

Where this was filmed

The setting looks like an outdoor area with tree cover, dirt ground, and man-made structures — a bamboo platform, a green woven hammock, and a carved stone rail — suggesting a public park or temple ground where monkeys live alongside visitors’ amenities. No people appear on camera during the clips shown.
